On your next Business Class flight, consider one of these top airports for your stop over, based on passengers’ overall satisfaction. Based in Montreal, the Airports Council International has comprised more than 550,000 passenger satisfaction surveys, taking place in 2014, with more than 300 airports in 80 countries. The passengers were asked to weigh in on 34 key service indicators, some of which were airports access, security, check-in process, food and beverage, facilities and retail. In the 2015 Airport Service Quality Awards, Singapore Changi Airport and Incheon Airport in South Korea tied for first place, based on airport size, with over 40 million passengers.

For the fifth consecutive year, Changi Airport has ranked at the top of Airport Service Quality Awards. What makes Changi stand out in the crowd? Its’ commitment to innovation. The Changi Airport Group recognizes the “constantly evolving consumer preferences” and tailors its’ strategy around it. Changi Airport provides 160 food and beverage options, 180 perfume and cosmetics brands, 350 retail outlets, grossing at US$1.57 billion in total retail sales in 2013. With 53 million passengers passing through Changi a year, it is among the five busiest international airports in the world.

The ACI World’s director general, Angela Gittens stated that there is a growing trend among airports to provide an exceptional passenger experience: “Airports have evolved into complex, customer-focused businesses that in many cases are in competition with each other for passenger traffic”. Furthermore, she adds, “From duty-free and restaurants to ambiance, cleanliness, courtesy of staff, amenities, efficiency and more, air travelers are expecting big things from the airports through which they travel”.
